OUR APPROACHES

Private Lands Agroforestry Promotion

NCCDO advocates and educates private landowners on agroforestry practices, enhancing both tree cover and agricultural productivity. By setting specific targets for tree planting and distributing free seedlings, the organization actively engages farmers and community members in achieving a minimum tree cover of 30%.

Public Lands and Watershed Restoration

Utilizing Assisted Natural Regeneration (ANR) techniques and dedicated tree-planting initiatives, NCCDO works towards restoring degraded areas surrounding Bwindi National Park and the water sources of Lake Mutanda and Lake Mulehe in Kisoro District. This effort contributes to preserving biodiversity and safeguarding crucial water resources.

Educational Spaces Greening

NCCDO extends its impact to the education sector by creating green spaces in primary schools. Collaborating with school management committees, pupils, and students in the southern sector, the organization establishes planted areas within schools. This initiative not only enhances the environmental aesthetics but also educates the younger generation about the importance of environmental conservation.
